DBA have partnered with Jody Barney to present TWO amazing training opportunities on November 21st. Jody is a strong and committed advocate who has worked for the last 35 years with Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander people who are Deaf/hard of hearing or have disabilities.

Understanding Deafness and Deafblindness through Indigenous Cultural lens.

DBA’s Project Officer, Ness, will present on the national work done with Deafblind Australia and Deafblind basic information. Jody will add the nuanced and expertise Indigenous cultural and community context to working with this group. Training will include information on greeting, guiding, communication, use of touch and much more.

Session 1: 10-1 pm

Target Audience: Education, Families, Community and Disability services

Session 2: 3:30-6:30

Target Audience: Legal and Justice Services, Government
