Position: Deafblind Representative (Western Australia)
Kirsty is a proud deafblind woman, who identifies as deafblind as a result of congenital Rubella syndrome. Auslan is her first language. Kirsty has been active in the Deafblind community for many years. She is a skilled mentor, Auslan teacher and facilitator and provides Assistive Technology (AT) advice. Kirsty completed a Certificate IV in Assistive Technology Mentoring in 2020 and has an in-depth understanding of the NDIS from both participant and advocacy perspectives. She manages social media for DBWA Connect and Deafblind West Australians and is sitting Board member – Event Coordinator for Deafblind West Australians. Kirsty has been a Deafblind Representative on the Deafblind Australia Board since 2022.
